Day 143: Fillmore (Cars)

Fillmore is a fictional character from the movie Cars by Disney Pixar. He is a Volkswagen Type 2 microbus of late 1950s/early 1960s vintage as evidenced by his pointed front turn signals and small rear window. Fillmore's license plate reads "51237", which is a reference to May 12, 1937, the birthdate of George Carlin. He is a stereotypical hippie, with his license plate positioned to resemble a soul patch. His name is a reference to the Fillmore East, a venue that was an epicenter for rock performances throughout the 1960s and 1970s (The Allman Brothers, The Grateful Dead, and Jimi Hendrix all made notable live recordings there, to name a few).

Day 115: Russell (Up)

Russell is a character from the Pixar movie Up. He is also a Wilderness Explorer. Russell was missing the "Assisting the Elderly" Wilderness Patch, the last one to put him in the rank of Senior Wilderness Explorer. He showed up at Carl Fredricksen's doorstep, hoping to help him in crossing something to "assist" him.

Russell is apparently a chubby kid, since his very last shirt button isn't buttoned. He is always seen wearing a Wilderness Explorer uniform and his merit badges. He appears to be of Asian descent. He has short, spiked hair, which is normally covered by a hat.

Reader's submission: Wall-E by André Telles

André from Brazil sent me this cool version of Wall-E. Though somehow derailed from the template, I think the similarity comes from its boxy look. Check out his blog here!

Celia Mae is a fictional character from the animated film Monsters, Inc. by Disney-Pixar. Celia (a.k.a. Shmoopsie Poo as called by Mike) is Mike Wazowski's girlfriend.
